How long have you done CrossFit and what was your reason for joining?
Memorial Day marked my one year anniversary for CrossFit. My very first WOD was Murphy! I have to say as hard as it was I really enjoyed it so I kept coming back for more. I have been an athlete all my life but decided to try CrossFit when I got bored with my regular workouts. I had been running and lifting weights on my own at the gym. I have to say my fellow 5am'ers have become my second family. I love all the encouragement and the push we all give each other. I actually look forward to getting up and working out.
What’s your favorite workout (Movement/Lift/Benchmark etc.) and favorite post workout food?
My favorite lift would be a toss up between power cleans and snatch. Both of these lifts are harder because there is more technique to them but I can feel them working the whole body. I also like box jumps! I was a high jumper so I have always liked the jumps. Even after the big box jumps took a good piece of my shin a few months ago they are still a fav of mine. My favorite post workout food would be eggs and occasionally bacon to go with them.
What’s your least favorite workout (Movement/Lift/Benchmark etc.) and favorite cheat meal?
My least favorite workout would be strict press and wall ball. My favorite cheat meal would have to be French fries or pizza.
What is your next goal? i.e. doubles, pull ups, weight loss, body fat%, come more etc.
When I started CF I was really determined to do pull ups. I reached that goal after about 9 months working on them. I was so proud of myself when I finished Murph doing pull ups (assisted) instead of ring rows. I wasn't able to move my arms for a week but I felt it was a great accomplishment for me. I still have to do them assisted most of the time but am able to do a few on my own without help. So this will be an ongoing goal. My next goal would be getting better at doubles. Like PU's I can do some but am never able to complete a WOD without switching to singles.
