Faylene is a 5 am'er who rarely skips a day. She shows up ready to work, attentive and always smiling. I can always count on her to have witty comebacks or jabs if I slip up (which is often). Her dedication to her health has inspired many in the gym. She recently did a bikini comp and was probably the easiest person I've worked with as she was committed to the process and meticulous with every detail. Lastly Faylene is nurturing and caring, she often encourages others to finish, offers positive motivation and even checks in with me if I seem a little down lol. She has the CLR coming up and has been training like crazy to prepare, I'm sure she'll do amazing. Keep up all your hard work, we appreciate you.
Dwayne comes in the evening usually although he started as a 5 am'er. After a ridiculous commute he makes CF a priority and gets to class when drinking a cold one and kicking your feet up probably sound better. Not to say that he doesn't do that, he gets a workout in first. Dwayne is competitive, driven and pushes himself but in a safe manner. He knows his limits and routinely listens to his body. He is someone others look to and trust. He comes to class and pays attention, asks the right questions and is always ready to learn and improve. He is also training for the CLR coming up at the end of the month so his training is amped up right now. He never ceases to amaze me though, even after putting in long run days he shows up, sore or not and gives it 100%. You're a beast Dwayne and I look forward to seeing you compete in the next Masters comp we can find. Keep getting after it!
How long have you done CrossFit and what was your reason for joining?
I started January 17, 2015. I had been wanting t try CF for some time. I had done some running and really enjoyed it but plantar fasciitis in both feet made it painful and I needed something else. I knew a few people that were coming to CFPV and they had great things to say about it.
Been at CFPV for just over a year. I always thought CF looked interesting, when Faylene joined I had to get in too.
What’s your favorite workout (Movement/Lift/Benchmark etc.) and favorite post workout food?
Well, "Faylene" of course! But anything with cleans and running. Granola with coconut milk! I have a great grain free recipe.
Usually anything "Legs" and dead lift. Clif Bar or the first thing I see when I open cupboards.
What’s your least favorite workout (Movement/Lift/Benchmark etc.) and favorite cheat meal?
It used to be anything overhead like OHS or Snatch but the more I do them the more I see the benefit. Probably wall balls are my least favorite. Pork with a dark stout followed by a great chocolate torte.
Floor Press! Jump Rope. Pizza with a big fat IPA to drink, maybe two.
What is your next goal? i.e. doubles, pull ups, weight loss, body fat%, come more etc.
I've been working on doubles but don't have them down quite yet. Pull ups are the next thing I want to tackle.
Doubles, pull ups and chest to bar.
