This week I wanted to feature Alaina. She is a 5 a.m. faithful who sets the bar very high without a number/rabbit to chase so to speak. I often find myself looking at her times and saying "Whoa, she was moving!" If I could describe Alaina in one word it would be "Beast". She is strong as an ox and most importantly, her form is excellent. However, she is one of the most humble people in the the gym and has no idea how strong she actually is. She busts her butt day in and day out, inspires others with her words and her performance, when she is done with the WOD she will often go cheer someone else on or finish the run with them etc. She has competed in a few comps and has never failed to impress. It is a pleasure to coach such a focused and competitive individual and I'm excited to see where her training takes her. Keep it Alaina!!!
1- I started CrossFit a year ago. My friend from work does CF in Salem and she encouraged me to join. She knew CF was right up my ally!
2- My favorite lift(s) are the hang clean/power clean. In a twisted way I enjoy the marathon wod's because they kick my butt and I have a strong sense of accomplishment in the end. It's like...Eye of the tiger starts playing in my head and I want to run to the top of the stairs and yell "yo Kyle (my husband), I did it!" ;) My favorite post workout meal is a banana and egg pancake with raspberries on top.
3- Movements I cringe at are only because they challenge me. Specifically, the overhead squat and double unders. My favorite cheat meal is pizza with an ice cold coke!
4- My continual goal is to stay health and become the best that I can be! I would also like to achieve consistency with double unders.
