How long have you done CrossFit and what was your reason for joining?
I've been CrossFitting for about a year and a half now since the gym opened. I grew up in a very active family who loves to hike, run and rock climb so health and eating well is innate in me. I was so inspired and motivated by Andrew and Andrea when I first met them that, naturally, when they opened CFPV I signed myself up to get some of those Carter muscles!
What’s your favorite workout (Movement/Lift/Benchmark etc.) and favorite post workout food?
All of them..duh ;) No, honestly, I like the overhead squat a lot. It challenges my balance, which is horrible, and all my weak areas, and it's not overly technical which is also a weakness of mine...when have you ever seen me do any technical lift without laughing at myself?? I had to think this one through because what I like and what I'm good at are totally different. I THRIVE on any workout that requires running, jumping or burpees...burpees have my heart ;)
My favorite post workout food is absolutely a seasonal protein shake. Right now I make a pumpkin spice shake, drink half after the workout and freeze the other half for a later on snack (or share it with the boys). Try it!: 1 scoop vanilla or snicker doodle protein powder, 1/2 cup organic pumpkin puree (I freeze mine into cubes), 1/2 a frozen banana cut into slices, couple shakes of pumpkin pie spice & cinnamon, 1/2 tsp vanilla, and enough almond milk or coconut water to get it the perfect consistency...yeah, it's pretty much fall in a cup!
What’s your least favorite workout (Movement/Lift/Benchmark etc.) and favorite cheat meal?
My least favorite movement would have to be the thruster...they just suck. The end.
Ice cream is and will always be my #1 indulgence of choice...and I seem to indulge more that I need to ;)
What is your next goal? i.e. doubles, pull ups, weight loss, body fat%, come more etc.
Setting goals is important, without goals we have no direction. I would like to master the muscle up, and increase my cardiovascular endurance in workouts. Of course, I would love to be confident with technical lifts like the snatch and power clean. I wouldn't mind loosing a few pounds either ;)...let's just say I have lots to motivate me!
