1. How long have you done Crossfit and what was your reason for joining?
I have been doing Crossfit for a little over a year now. I had heard good things about Crossfit and wanted to try it. Then I kept seeing the CFPV sign by the side of the road and I decided to give it a try and was hooked after the first class. I really want to stay healthy since Diabetes and heart disease run in my family. I really enjoy Crossfit because it is challenging and fun, but I love that the workout is different everyday. Crossfit and CFPV have had such a positive influence on my life in this last year and I love telling everyone I know about it.
2. What's your favorite workout (movement/lift/Benchmark etc.) and favorite post workout food?
I would say currently it is the rope climb since I finally conquered it after trying for a year! Although I do like the deadlift too :) My favorite post workout food is dinner since I go to Crossfit in the evening usually and I'm starving when I get home. Dinner is usually chicken or fish, veggies, sweet potato.
3. What's your least favorite workout (movement/lift/Benchmark etc.) and favorite cheat meal?
I would say box jumps. They scare me everytime! My favorite cheat meal would include pizza for sure. I love frozen yogurt too. And of course a cider.
4. What is your next goal? i.e doubles, pull ups, weight loss, body fat%, come more etc.
Currently I am trying to lose weight, so I am on the meal plan by Andrew. I would also like to do a pull up without a band and also toe to bar. There is always something to work on in Crossfit. Crossfit also helps with running too and I'm hoping to beat my PR for my next half marathon in October.
I have to say that this young lady is extraordinary! She is the epitome of what a functional athlete is and is a pleasure to train and watch her apply her training in real life. It seems like I'm constantly asking her what's next? If it isn't a 5k then it's a 10k, or half marathon, or Warrior Dash, or Zombie run or obstacle course etc. She is always busy pushing her limits and boundaries and uses CrossFit to make her better and more confident when doing them. A huge milestone she just passed was climbing the 15' rope, and boy, as a coach I couldn't have been more proud. She is eager to learn, coach-able, positive and always has a glorious smile (even when I'm yelling at her :) lol). I'm excited to see where her next journey takes her and how CF can compliment her crazy adventurous life. Keep up the hard work Missy, it's paying off big time!
