How long have you done CrossFit and what was your reason for joining?
I have done Crossfit since May 2014. We originally just wanted a nutrition plan, but then ended up trying a class and got hooked very quickly. The nutrition plan was followed for maybe a week... I've danced competitively most of my life, so when I stopped dancing after college, Crossfit ended up being a perfect replacement. It's a competitive, yet extremely supportive environment.
Originally, we came to Power Valley for meal plans. We were referred by another current member, and we were adamant about not joining CrossFit. However once we started our 5 free classes, we noticed the work ethic of the community and the motivational support was something we couldn't find at our Globo-gym, and something we couldn't live without!
What’s your favorite workout (Movement/Lift/Benchmark etc.) and favorite post workout food?
My favorite movement is back squat, or really anything lower body (except overhead squat). Favorite post workout food is either a protein shake with peanut butter and a piece of fruit or anything with eggs.
Favorite lift is the power-clean. I enjoy working on this because it provide me with multiple ways to improve. Be it technique, agility, or power, there is always something new to work on. Favorite post-workout food are my smoothies. Oatmeal, protein, fruit, almond milk, 15 seconds, booya!
What’s your least favorite workout (Movement/Lift/Benchmark etc.) and favorite cheat meal?
Least favorite workout is the overhead squat and anything to do with running. Favorite cheat meal is beer, chocolate, or anything cheesy.
Least favorite move are the jumping lunges. Because FUCK THAT SHIT! Favorite cheat meal: Grains, hops, yeast, and water.
What is your next goal? i.e. doubles, pull ups, weight loss, body fat%, come more etc.
My next goal is to get fifteen kipping pull-ups in a row (without tearing my hands). I also want to break 200# with my back squat.
2015 is the year of the muscle-up.
